The Divine Comedy

The new volume to get to know every aspect of Dante Alighieri’s Commedia. Each Canto is introduced by a commentary by two outstanding Italian Dante scholars, Professors Emilio Pasquini and Giuseppe Ledda. The authors tell the public, including non-academics, about the characters, places and atmospheres of the poem, with special attention paid to new interpretations of the Supreme Poet’s verses. The volume contains the complete corpus of Federico Zuccari’s drawings, 88 sheets produced between 1586 and 1588. The imposing illustrative structure of the Commedia is commented by Professor Giancarlo Benevolo and guarantees the definitive figurative reading of Dante’s poem, reverberating its majestic visionary nature.
