I dipinti di Berlino
Collected in a single volume, the best masterpieces of European painting belonging to the artistic heritage of Berlin infuse a particular sense of abundance. In addition to the French painting of the 18th century, from whose private collection of Frederick II the Great starts the current public collection of the city, and in addition to the German school, which occupies a prominent place with the masterpieces by Dürer and Holbein the Young, all the European schools are excellently represented thanks to works of primary importance and, in many cases, to true masterpieces. The presences of works of Flemish primitives, of the great 17th century Dutch painting (van Eyck, Rubens and Rembrandt),
and the Italian Renaissance painters (Masaccio, Giotto, and Bernardo Daddi) are fabulous. The volume, which does not overlook even the large collection of the 19th and 20th centuries paintings, ends with the most celebrated artists (Cézanne, Manet, Feuerbach, Böcklin, Munch, Vlaminck, and so on), up to the masters of the Expressionism both German and international.
